Let The Sky Fall

Hello again! As I have not posted in a year, I’m very sorry. I have read a lot over the course of a year, I’ve just never actually got to sit down and type a review until now.

This time I read:

Let The Sky Fall

by Shannon Messenger

Let The Sky Fall

It’s about an ordinary boy named Vane Weston that survived a category-5 tornado, crazy right?!? He wakes up with no memories, except one of a girl in his dreams. He is adopted by a loving mother and father, and is raised as an only child. Audra is the girl in his dreams that appears randomly throughout his life and in his dreams. The truth is that they’re not humans neither Audra nor Vane. They’re air elementals, sylphs to be precise, they can control the winds. While Audra is very experienced, Vane’s memories have been wiped and must have each of his breakthroughs to receive the power to control the winds. Vane is the last Westerly, he’s their only hope in destroying Raiden who seeks for power. Audra must train him, as she is his guardian. She’s willing to sacrifice her life for him, the story continues as they develop a forbidden romance that may have existed for 13 years.

This is a beautifully written novel and I don’t want to ruin the ending, but Raiden is not defeated at the end of the story, it continues on to a sequel called Let The Storm Break, which I have yet to read.

But I recommend this book to everyone!! It will draw you in like a drug and you won’t put it down until you’re finished!

Now that you know what it’s about do go ahead and read it.

Alright its been literally forever since I’ve gotten on; life and everything. Man! You just can’t shake certain things off. But I do have something to talk about today as you see in this title. Yes, I know exciting!! Allegiant has been out for more than a month and I have read it.

One word;

I loved it! But… I didn’t like it. Makes sense right? Yes, no?

Roth is amazing, I’m putting that out there. Girl, you keep writing because it is beautiful!

I was a little disappointed with the ending not what I had imagined or wanted. Let me just tell you  Four/Tobias did NOT die. It’s alright girls, take a breath your man is still alive.

No, it’s not like other novels I’ve before. I can’t express how much I feel for this trilogy, I can only say that it’s amazing. It is only my opinion but I think that this trilogy is a MUST READ!!

Tris is daring, brave, loving, caring, compassionate, and everything that makes up who she is plays a role in the decision she makes. Roth puts so many twists and crazy events in this series. I will warn you that you WILL  have tears. You will be pouring your guts out through your eyes. At least I did. I had to reread those couple of chapters at least 4 times, just to soak it in.

But here is my remember it message; Allegiant is amazing! You must read it if you have not. You WILL have tears and just love Roth and don’t deny Tris.

Good Luck My Readers in Life, Books, Everything!!

It’s 1996, and Josh and Emma have been neighbors their whole lives. They’ve been best friends almost as long – at least, up until last November, when Josh did something that changed everything. Things have been weird between them ever since, but when Josh’s family gets a free AOL CD in the mail, his mom makes him bring it over so that Emma can install it on her new computer. When they sign on, they’re automatically logged onto their Facebook pages. But Facebook hasn’t been invented yet. And they’re looking at themselves fifteen years in the future.

By refreshing their pages, they learn that making different decisions now will affect the outcome of their lives later. And as they grapple with the ups and downs of what their futures hold, they’re forced to confront what they’re doing right – and wrong – in the present.

1990’s that means no FACEBOOK! There’s about 1.11 billion people ACTIVELY using Facebook including me and most likely you. That’s approximately 15% of the world’s population. Alright so Emma and Josh have been best friends for like forever! Until fate changes it. Josh gets a free AOL CD (American Online Internet CD). He let’s Emma install it to her computer. Except when they get on Facebook opens, except there is no Facebook at the time. Try imagining what you would look like in 15 years. So they saw their future, except the future can change depending on the actions we take. You can choose to go to one college or another. You can move to one city or another. So everything that Emma and Josh do, can change their future.

What if you knew your future?

Emma forgets that everything she does not only affects her but also changes something about someone else. So many things they don’t understand. like texting. Suddenly they realize they’ve unraveled something different and maybe dangerous.

This book was very suspenseful, as you see decisions Emma and Josh make. What breaks and makes a friendship. Sometimes so much knowledge isn’t that exciting when you actually have it.

Answer this: What if you could see your future?

I definitely recommend this book. It really had the plot I was looking for.

I rate it 8.75/10

Try it out I loved it! Even if you like tragedies or mysteries. (Kaitlyn)

Stand Alone

Nothing is going as planned for Rebecca Muir. She’s weeks away from starting college–at a school chosen specifically to put a few thousand miles of freedom between Reb and her parents. But her dad’s last-minute job opportunity has her entire family moving all those miles with her! And then there’s the matter of her unexpected, amazing boyfriend, Jackson, who is staying behind on the exact opposite coast.
And if that isn’t enough to deal with, mere days after moving cross-country, Reb’s dad drops shocking, life-changing news. With her mother and brother overwhelmed and confused, Reb is left alone to pick up the pieces of her former life. But how can she do that when everything can change in an instant? How can she trust her “perfect” boyfriend when her own dad let her down? Reb started the year knowing exactly what her future would hold, but now that her world has turned upside down, will she discover what she really wants?
Justina Chen, the acclaimed author of North of Beautiful, has created a moving and powerful novel about the struggles that arise from betrayal, the uncertainty of life after high school, and the joy that ultimately comes from discovering what’s truly in your heart.

Rebecca Muir has everything sorted out perfect as possible. She’s got the college, family, friends, and the guy. A mother that’s a perfectionist and keeps everything organized. A brother that likes to write novels, and her dream of being an architect. Just when she got far, far away from  home *just like we all want to* across the country. Her dad found a job and just “happened” (quote n’ quote) to find a job moving right along with Reb cross the country. If that’s not overwhelming enough her dad decides that he has had enough. Changing their life forever and crumbling everyone’s heart. Reb tries to collect herself and become the one in charge. She doesn’t know her future, and who knows what she’ll become someday.

Stimulation…… Close your eyes. Then.. .wait you won’t be able to read this. Okay so open your eyes and close then after you are done reading this. Then pretend that you have the perfect guy (which you might) and you are going to a really good college and first year is already paid for and you’re in the game. Everything is moving smoothly. Then your dad ditches you, your mom, and your brother,  mom becomes unstable. Your new possible boss turned you down. Everything turns ǝpısdn uʍop. Comment below what you would do.

Well I would have to say that there is a flow of emotion throughout the novel. Many times you will say to yourself or out loud “WHAT?!?” “I can’t believe this!” “NO WAY” or “Oh no you didn’t!”  I’m not giving away the ending but it’s so sweet! Anyway I think you guys will totally love this book just as I did. Let me know what you think.

P.S. Here’s the website for upside down text if you want to try it out.

I rate this book an 8.5 out of 10.

I would totally recommend it, it’s more realistic and has an interesting twist. This is labeled ‘Mature Content’ but there’s not really anything inappropriate. So anyone, not everyone  but anyone can read it. Is there a difference? I think so, but MOST not all. MOST people can read it. So everyone go read and reply!

Climbing to the top of the social ladder is hard—falling from it is even harder.  Regina Afton used to be a member of the Fearsome Fivesome, an all-girl clique both feared and revered by the students at Hallowell High… until vicious rumors about her and her best friend’s boyfriend start going around.  Now Regina’s been “frozen out” and her ex-best friends are out for revenge.  If Regina was guilty, it would be one thing, but the rumors are far from the terrifying truth and the bullying is getting more intense by the day.  She takes solace in the company of Michael Hayden, a misfit with a tragic past who she herself used to bully.  Friendship doesn’t come easily for these onetime enemies, and as Regina works hard to make amends for her past, she realizes Michael could be more than just a friend… if threats from the Fearsome Foursome don’t break them both first.

Tensions grow and the abuse worsens as the final days of senior year march toward an explosive conclusion in this dark new tale from the author of Cracked Up To Be

Regina Afton used to be part of the Fearsom Fivesome, best friends with Anna Morrison and in the clique. After a party one night everything changes, she loses everything; “frozen out”. Rumors are going around about Regina and her best friend’s boyfriend. She’s bullied until she can’t take it anymore, she joins with Michael Hayden. As they become friends, she realizes she’s putting those around her at risk. Regina is now alone fighting against the her ex-best friends and everyone else at Hallowell High. Regina was at the top, now she’s at the bottom of the social pyramid. This book takes you on a journey as Regina faces against bullying.

This book was excellently written and very intriguing! Many times in the book I can understand Regina and what she is going through, not that I’ve experienced everything but I do understand. I think that this book would help people become aware of bullying and teasing classmates. I don’t really have many things that I would critique about this book.

Just letting everyone know that I would recommend this book to anyone of pretty much any age! I don’t like putting an age on how old you must be or what reading lexile you must have to read a book, because I read books way above my lexile!

I rate this book a 7.2 out of 10. It’s also a little mature content based on the reason why she gets bullied, and what happens to her throughout the story.

I read this book awhile ago and forgot to blog this post, but what I do remember is that it was an excellent book!

House of Night #2

Series/Stand Alone: Series

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night.  She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs–like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.
Zoey Redbird has actually made friends, 4 of them. She is contacted by the powerful vampyre goddess; Nyx. Zoey is now comfortable with the House of Night, better yet her crescent mark is filled in unlike normal fledglings, this proves that Nyx has touched Zoey. As Zoey moves along her days she comes face to face with danger first-handed. Football players of her old school have been getting killed and with the blood and claw marks. All fingers point towards the House of Night, Zoey must face the betrayal and find the truth behind everything risking herself and those around her.
Especially this one book of all of the ones I have read. While I read this novel…. I cried. Cast developed these characters so well that I cried at one point. It was scary, so detailed and described that it gave you the mysterious feeling when you read it. I had to read it again just to see if I skipped something or misread it. It was unbelievable how it made me think that I was part of it. It was so emotional and I felt it as part of me when I read it. I feel like this novel was written intended not to make it seem like the plot and story was perfect, but to make it real. I loved how Cast described her, it changed everything.

So Stevie Rae died in this book, and I cried so hard. Cast described her so well, that I felt as if she was my best friend. I could feel the imaginary body in my arms and blood everywhere on the floor. It changed how I finished this book.

As I said in the previous post, it’s really hard to find parts that I didn’t like especially since I finished the book 2 days ago. All I have to say is that it was too emotional and I didn’t think some parts were necessary.

P.S. You WILL cry, just trust me on this. Unless…. you have a hard heart.

I rate it 9.75/10 I cried so much, went back to read it, cried again, and so on so forth for like 4 times.

I would love for everyone to read this series it’s amazing! And so are vampires! I’m mean all the books make them sound super cool, so I’d love to be one someday! Bite me!

House of Night #1

OMG!! It’s like Divergent all over again!!! So recently I found a new series. I’m really into vampire stuff nowadays, so my friend Whitney recommended the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast (mother and daughter). I’ve already finished 4 books, but I’m going to post a review for each one individually.

The House of Night series is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird’s world, vampyres have always existed.  In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire — that is, if she makes it through the Change.  Not all of those who are chosen do.  It’s tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling.  She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx.  But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers.  When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny–with a little help from her new vampyre friends.
One ordinary day 16 year-old Zoey Redbird is marked by the Goddess Nyx, a crescent on her forehead. Zoey is a regular girl dating the star of the football team, and best friends with Kalya. She doesn’t realize that this mark will change her forever. Zoey’s dad left the family leaving her mom alone with the kids. Her mother marries another man named John Heffer, Zoey despises and hates him. She looks towards her grandmother for help. Zoey is a special fledgling, given special powers. But soon later she finds a clique in the group, the leader of the Dark Daughters has also been touched by the Goddess. Zoey must find her true self and make this new world her home.
I’m loving this series, it’s amazing! Cast made this book similar to a jump start, it’s very exciting and suspenseful. Though the story flies by quickly, there are many details and descriptions. I love how Cast made Zoey not fit in, she made her different from everyone else. The story just brings the life out of you, I was so captivated into the book I couldn’t put it down. This book is truly a miracle, I must say. It’s wonderful and exciting, also it get’s more interesting as she writes the continuing books. Throughout Zoey’s life at the House of Night a place where fledglings learn and go through the change to become a true vampire or……… die. Zoey makes so many friends and it amazes me how she went from loneliness to being loved. I love they way this book was written, I felt like I could feel her emotions. This book totally drew me in, literally, whenever I opened the book I felt like I was entering the world. I really love books that I can get lost into, I’d really recommend this book to teenage girls or even adults.
I can never find many dislikes in the books I read. But sometimes I felt like there was something missing, and it seems like there is. I feel like this book could be better or with a little more punch, you could say. If any of you find what’s missing, let me know please. I think that this had an amazing plot, except there was a spot missing.
This overall was an amazing book and I’m writing more reviews about the other ones in the story. You’ll be amazed at how it twists and turns.
I rate this 9.55/10 definitely spicy!!!
This book is sooo amazing and I look forward to finishing the rest of the series!
Stay posted for the next review that may come out in…. 30 min- 1 hour.

Manga!! After School Nightmare

I rarely read manga, but when I do I always read the whole series. Okay so in the last post I said that I was going to read Daughter of Smoke & Bone next and I am.

So today I went to the public library and found this series and picked it up, and I liked it so I read it.

But you guys don’t care that I went to the library, so let’s get into the book review!

After School Nightmare

Setona Mizushiro

After School Nightmare

I decided not to do each individual book, but to do the whole series. Cause the stories simply continue in each volume.

# of volumes: 10

Sources: Public Library

Note*: Manga can also be read online

Anime or Manga: Manga

When reading manga in a book, start from the back so the pages open from the left. Either in a book or online, read from right to left and top to bottom. Also a character will be called their first or last name, depending on the person in the story. Don’t bother trying to pronounce the names, it’s hard. Also anime is sort of the movie part of manga where there are episodes, most books have both or one or the other.

A boy named Mashiro Ichijo, is not quite a boy or girl. He has this secret that he has kept from his peers, until he enrolls in this particular high school. He must take this special class, and solve the problem to ‘graduate’. Mashiro’s top half of his body is male, and from his waist and lower is female. The class he must take is a dream class every thursday. He goes into this dreaming, or what they call a nightmare and they must face other peers. Mashiro first meets this girl named Kureha Fujishima, she has a terror of men and is a sweet demeanor. When she  finds out about his secret, she starts to like him. Ichijo wants to prove himself that he is a man, while this other boy named Sou Mizuhashi falls in love with him. Sou also finds a later that he is a girl and starts to like him. Certain student must take the dream class to graduate from high school, they have these necklaces with 3 beads on them when they’re dreaming. Each bead will crack when their spirit is damaged, that is when a person is shocked or of fear. After all the 3 beads are broken they are done for that day. Ichijo must learn to become stronger, and during the dreaming it’s what comes to your mind instead of reality. One is stuck and cannot wake from the dreaming until all 3 beads are broken.

I really liked how Setona Mizushiro, wrote this series of books. She combined this imaginary world and made it more interesting with the different characters, and how they change when they enter the dreaming. Except for Ichijo, he is changed into a girl’s uniform. As he develops a relationship with Kureha, you get to travel with him throughout all the situations. I also like the story because of Suo, who is changed because of Ichijo. Suo is a sex-fiend and has a player type personality, dating girls then dumping them. He does this not for fun, but because he wants to find true love. He realizes that it’s Ichijo when he finds out his secret.

Sometimes it got really confusing whether the character was in the dreaming or in reality, but there are illustrations so you can identify the setting if there are beads on their wrist or neck. Also another part I don’t like is the fact that sometimes it gets confusing, but as you read more manga it is easier to understand. Lastly what I don’t like is the ending, I think that they should write 1 more volume to conclude everything.

This book contains Mature Content

Anyway, I really enjoyed this series and I think that some people will like it.

I rate this whole series 6.75/10, not the best but it was still good.

Also if you get confused I suggest that you reread slowly, or read a review about to get what it’s about.

I would really encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new like comics, graphic novels, or manga, if they only read novels!

So yeah…. survey??

Hey guys!!

I know I’m posting a lot today, sort of.

Anyway I was “experimenting” and I made a survey for all you readers!!! For now it’s made pointing towards girls. There are 4 questions where you have to choose between 2 fictional male characters. Then on the 5th question (I think), you’ll rank them top to bottom. Favorite to least favorite! Boys are welcomed to take this survey, as I said it’s ‘pointed‘ towards girls.

Just click on the link and it’ll take you directly there!!
